Location: Wabasca, Alberta

Job Details:

In this position, you will work directly with sibling groups aged 0-17 years. You will be required to enrich their quality of life in a home setting that is their own. Provide the day-to-day care of the sibling group with all policies and procedures manuals provided.

Your Hours:

The hours for this position will vary depending on the needs of the program and will include some evenings and weekends. A maximum of 45 hours per week.

Senior Administrator

About the Role:

Netsanak Wekowaw is seeking a dedicated and organized Senior Administrator to join our team. This is a multifaceted role designed for a high-level professional who can act as the operational heartbeat for our current locations and support our growth into new communities.


You will balance front-line communication, essential administrative support, and fundamental financial record-keeping. Because we serve multiple communities, flexibility and a willingness to travel between our Edmonton and Wabasca offices (and future locations) are essential components of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Multi-Site Operations & Communication

  • Act as a central point of contact for the organization, managing professional phone and email correspondence across multiple locations.

  • Coordinate day-to-day office logistics for both current and upcoming sites to ensure a consistent and productive environment.

  • Provide high-level administrative assistance to the leadership team, including document preparation and scheduling.

Financial Administration (Support to Finance Director)

  • Manage daily financial entries using QuickBooks Online, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurate.

  • Oversee expense tracking, including the systematic inputting of receipts and management of organizational subscriptions.

  • Assist with basic accounts payable/receivable tasks to support the Finance Director in broader financial health and reporting.

Community & Field Expertise

  • Apply specialized knowledge of the children's services sector to assist with documentation, compliance, and reporting.

  • Engage authentically with Indigenous groups, partners, and community members, ensuring all interactions align with our commitment to cultural safety and organizational values.

Requirements

  • Mobility & Travel: A valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel are mandatory. This person must be able to move between offices (including Wabasca) and support future site launches as the organization grows.

  • Sector Knowledge: A mandatory background in Children’s Services. Understanding the unique requirements and impact of this field is essential.

  • Cultural Competency: Experience working with Indigenous groups and a strong understanding of Indigenous community dynamics and protocols.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong, practical experience with QuickBooks Online and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Administrative Excellence: Proven experience in office management, with a knack for organizing digital files and physical records across a multi-site framework.

  • Weekend Hours: Occasionally, weekend work may be required.

Operations Director

Position Overview:

Netsanak Wekowaw (My Sibling’s Home) Ltd. is seeking an experienced and highly adaptable Operations Director to work closely with the Owner in overseeing organizational operations, financial administration, and the strategic implementation of programs supporting Indigenous children, youth, and their families. This senior-level contract position requires strong management experience, cultural awareness, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment. The Operations Director plays a critical role in supporting service delivery, strengthening internal systems, and translating the Owner’s vision into sustainable operations aligned with community needs and licensing requirements.

*This position will be required to travel from Edmonton to Wabasca-Desmarais and will need to occasionally stay overnight.*

 

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Work directly with the Owner to oversee daily operations across programs and services

  • Support coordination and accountability for staff, contractors, and program activities

  • Identify operational gaps and implement improvements to strengthen service delivery and compliance

  • Assist with planning, prioritizing, and managing high-volume workloads

 

Financial & Payroll Oversight

  • Manage payroll using QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality

  • Maintain organized payroll and financial documentation

  • Coordinate with accountants or external financial professionals as required

 

Strategic Program Development & Implementation

  • Support the development and rollout of new programs and service models

  • Translate strategic ideas into operational plans with timelines and deliverables

  • Monitor implementation and recommend improvements

  • Ensure alignment with Netsanak Wekowaw’s mission, community values, and contracts

 

Administrative & Organizational Systems

Flexibility & Travel

Contract Details

This is a one-year contract position. Typical 44 hours of work a week, 8 hour days, dependent on the organizational needs, and overtime may be required. Overtime will be included in the compensation rate. Standard days are 8 hours, though flexibility is required to meet organizational needs.

Compensation will be based on experience and scope of responsibilities.

Home Supervisor

Job Purpose:

The Home Supervisor is a critical role you will provide daily supervision for all assigned In-Home Care Providers in maintaining the smooth operation of the home for persons served. As the first line of contact at our Commercial Residential Facility Program, they ensure the seamless functioning of the homes and are instrumental in managing the workflow. This position requires overseeing employees, handling staff files, and managing all documentation related to the assigned home. The Home Supervisor will also play a key role in training new hires to ensure they are equipped to provide the highest level of care for the persons served. In addition, the Home Supervisor will be responsible for creating staffing schedules that support home operations and ensure full capacity and efficient functioning. They will also be tasked with addressing any identified gaps in performance, providing feedback to the program manager, and working to implement corrective actions. The Home Supervisor will oversee daily operations, monitor staff adherence to Netsanak Wekowaw (My Siblings Home) LTD policies and procedures, and ensure the home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for persons served. They will also play a key role in training and mentoring staff, offering guidance to ensure that all team members are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to perform their roles effectively. By maintaining close communication with staff and leadership, the Home Supervisor ensures the team delivers quality care while upholding the values and standards of the organization. Additionally, the Home Supervisor will be responsible for conducting regular performance evaluations, addressing any staff concerns or conflicts, and fostering a positive team culture. They will also track and report on key performance indicators, identify trends, and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Work Conditions:

The Home Supervisor is expected to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week. However, there may be occasions where additional hours are required to ensure the smooth operation of the home and meet organizational needs.​

Work Environment

The Home Supervisor works in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to handle high-stress situations, using trauma informed approach with professionalism and composure. This role involves close interaction with persons served, ensuring a supportive and safe atmosphere for all. The Home Supervisor must be able to adapt to changes in the environment quickly, adjusting to varying situations while balancing administrative duties, managing team dynamics, and responding to the ever-changing needs of persons served. Must fulfil shifts if needed in emergency cases. The work environment requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a collaborative approach with the Program Manager, Team Lead, and In Home Care Providers The Home Supervisor will also need to address any urgent or emergency situations promptly, making quick, informed decisions to ensure the well-being and safety of all involved. This includes deescalating tense situations, providing trauma-informed approach, and managing behavioral challenges as they arise, all while maintaining a calm and effective presence under pressure. In addition to handling day-to-day responsibilities, the Home Supervisor is expected to remain flexible and adaptable, ensuring that the care environment remains consistent and safe despite any unpredictability of the work setting.​

Overtime Expectations

Overtime may be required and will be worked as needed.​

Required background checks, including a Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector) and a Child Services Intervention Record Check, must be completed within the last three months, though these can be initiated during the interview process. The candidate should provide 2 character reference checks. Key skills include strong critical thinking, effective oral and written communication, computer-based data knowledge, and experience in developing strategies and plans. Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Practices and strong priority management, along with a willingness to learn, are essential for success in this role.

After hours support is required for the Home Supervisor role to provide assistance during non-regular working hours.

Home Supervisor is required to follow all organizational standards and agreements, ensuring compliance with Netsanak Wekowaw’s policies and procedures, including those related to conduct, performance, and safety. This includes adherence to the attendance policy, dress code, and maintaining a respectful an professional work environment at all times. The Home Supervisor is expected to uphold confidentiality,

ensure proper documentation is maintained, and follow all protocols related to reporting, staff conduct, and performance management.

Flexibility in working hours, including overtime and after hours responsibilities, is part of the role, as the Home Supervisor must be available to address urgent situations and ensure continuous operations. The Home Supervisor must also ensure that all staff are thoroughly familiar with and comply with relevant policies and procedures, providing training and guidance as needed. Above all, the well-being of the persons served and the smooth operation of the home are the Home Supervisor’s number one priority. They are responsible for creating an environment that promotes both the safety and comfort of persons served and staff while ensuring that home operations run efficiently and effectively.
